Suffolk police now say that only one person died as a result of Thursday’s snowstorm.
Suffolk County Police Chief of Department Stuart Cameron said Friday night that 65-year-old Daniel Willis, of Lindenhurst, was found unconscious in his driveway and was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Cameron says Willis is the only weather-related fatality reported to Suffolk police.
County officials had said earlier that two people died of cardiac arrest during Thursday's snowstorm. Their initial announcement said it was two men, but that was later revised to be one and one woman.
