Officials say a dog in Lake
Ronkonkoma is safe after
being rescued by Suffolk police. 

According to officials, four officers from the
Suffolk Special Patrol Bureau took part in the rescue. 

Officials tell News 12 the officers saved the dog from water Sunday morning. 

There is no word on how the dog ended up in the
water, but it's uninjured.

Your current temperature bridge Hampton at 2921 right now in Riverhead 29 Bajo 31 have said 32 degrees. Good morning in Valley Stream. The Oceanside Huntington's at 28 and 25 degrees. Right now in Smithtown, a little bit of a wind. It feels more like the low twenties around most of Long Island. So you need to bundle up as you go throughout the rest of our day. Some sunny breaks this morning. Then mostly cloudy skies, tracking some flurries and snow showers north and west of Long Island. There will be a chance that we see one nuisance festive flakes coming on through a rain shower, snow shower, it's cold this morning and temperatures once again will struggle to around 41 degrees for that high. Suffolk police rescue dog from Lake Ronkonkoma 

This morning, a dog is safe and sound after being rescued by Suffolk. Police take a look at these pictures. Four officers from the Suffolk Special Patrol Bureau took part in the rescue. They tell us they saved the dog from Lake Ronkonkoma yesterday morning. You can imagine how cold that water was. No word on how the dog ended up in the water, but we're told it is safe now and uninjured.
