Suffolk police officer riding ATV struck by vehicle on Brentwood’s SCCC campus

Police said the officer attempted to make a left turn on Wicks Road when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound.

A Suffolk police officer riding an ATV was struck by another vehicle Sunday at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood.

Police said the officer attempted to make a left turn on Wicks Road when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound.

The officer was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The officer was part of a group of officers who enforce laws regarding illegal ATVs.

The driver remained at the scene.
