13ds agoThe Wantagh Board of Education says it will appeal a previous court decision in an attempt to keep its current “Warrior” name.
The district initially filed a lawsuit in federal court on Sept. 29, 2023 to keep its mascot. A federal judge dismissed the case on March 27, 2025.
The BOE announced Friday that it will be filing an appeal with the Second Circuit Court on Monday.
