Narcan kits will now be placed in 135 locations in Suffolk County buildings.

The Suffolk County Legislature approved a bill Tuesday which mandates Narcan to be available wherever AEDs are deployed.

"Thousands of times a year people are saved from Narcan," says Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn. "Narcan is an easy to use nasal spray that reverses the effects of an overdose and saves lives."

The new law will not cost the county anything since it received nearly 6,000 Narcan doses from New York state.
