The man accused of spear-heading one of the largest cocaine rings in Suffolk County history was sentenced today to 13 and a half years.

During his sentencing , William Wright told the judge during the last two years in jail he has witnessed what drug addicts go through and realizes the harm he's done.

Prosecutors say Wright, 36, used luxury cars to smuggle hundreds of kilos of cocaine from Los Angeles to Deer Park.

District Attorney Thomas Spota says the drugs were hidden in secret compartments of the cars and placed on carrier trucks. Officials say the cars were then driven to a North Babylon home where Robert Perticone and Richard Occhino lived on Polaris Avenue.

Prosecutors made the bust in July of last year when they saw the suspects drive two vehicles out of the rear of Occhino's motorcycle shop in Deer Park.

In addition to Perticone and Occhino, cops also busted two other suspects, Theodore Katsanos, of Bay Shore, and Jose Tejada, of West Babylon. However, investigators say Wright was the ringleader and brokered the shipment from Mexico to Long Island.
