There was a special sendoff for one of Suffolk County's top canines on Thursday.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office's first facility dog, Mega, is retiring.
Mega began her career with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office in 2014.
She later joined the Suffolk office in September 2022.
Mega served as a calming presence to witnesses, officers involved in traumatic events and victims and children.
She is allowing the new service dog, Tillman III, to take the reins.
The pup started her role as the Suffolk District Attorney's Office facility dog this week.
