Suffolk DA: Nearly $800,000 recovered after wage theft investigation

The investigation found multiple businesses in the county failed to pay prevailing wages and also participated in fraudulent practices against the New York State Insurance Fund.

Nearly $800,000 was recovered in connection to a series of wage thefts in Suffolk County, District Attorney Ray Tierney announced Thursday.
The investigation found multiple businesses in the county failed to pay prevailing wages and also participated in fraudulent practices against the New York State Insurance Fund.
Tierney tells News 12 his office has successfully prosecuted a multitude of crimes related to wage theft and fraud.
