A Marine Corps recruiter was arrested and charged with third-degree rape, according to the Suffolk County district attorney's office.

The Longwood Central School District sent home a letter Monday, saying that it was recently made aware of an allegation that a local military recruiter had unprofessional and inappropriate interactions with one of their high school students. The district said it referred the matter to Suffolk County police.

The Suffolk district attorney's office confirmed that Mason Wallace was arrested in February and arraigned earlier this month. His next court date is April 7.
