Man accused of sex trafficking and promoting prostitution at Patchogue motel

A man has been accused of sex trafficking and promoting prostitution at a motel in Patchogue.

Suffolk police say they responded to a domestic incident at the Shore Motor Inn, located at 576 South Service Road, around 5:22 p.m. on Friday, where they saw evidence of sex trafficking.

Following an investigation, Torrey Brown, who police say has no permanent address but is originally from Queens, was taken into custody. Detectives seized cellphones, a knife and what police state as "other evidence.”

Brown, 35, is charged with sex trafficking, attempted prostitution and promoting prostitution, as well as for a parole warrant issued by the New York State Police. He is set to be arraigned at the First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
