Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney announced the arrests of dozens of drug dealers and gang members in a major drug takedown Wednesday.
Tierney says officers seized illegal paraphernalia including guns, fentanyl and cocaine. He says 30 people were arrested, including suspected large-scale drug dealers and gang members.
"We undertook with our partners a long-term investigation with a number of drug buys with undercover officers, which culminated in the execution of over 100 search warrants," says Tierney.
Among those arrested were Paris Parks, Dushane Telfer, Oshane Perkins and Gabriel Fernandez. Tierney says authorities are seizing Fernandez's home in West Babylon.
"Because the drug proceeds were used to pay for the mortgage, we were able to seize it," says Tierney.
Authorities say Telfer and Perkins were also charged with the sale of illegal drugs in connection to the death of Michelle Tomitz, who died from a drug overdose.
Tierney says there are no death by dealer laws in New York.
