Officials announced Tuesday a twin-engine helicopter was recently brought back in service.
The department now has a fully operational fleet during the busiest time of the year for maritime activity. The aviation unit is critical for medical transport, search and rescue and storm damage assessment.
To further upgrade the fleet, the county is also purchasing an additional helicopter.
