Suffolk County COVID-19 death toll moves past 1,500

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone gave his Thursday COVID-19 update, with a major jump in the county's death toll.

- Bellone thanks business reopening workgroup, releasing a resource guide for businesses today. Gives an easy-to-use resource for businesses in Suffolk to get back moving again.
- Additional 804 Suffolk COVID-19 tests - 39,789 total cases.
- Number includes over 3,000 people who tested positive for having the antibodies.
- Hospitalizations decrease for second day in a row - decrease by 54, 719 total hospitalizations.
- Death toll is now 1,547 -- additional 245 deaths since last update on Tuesday. 
- Bellone says jump in numbers comes in part due to 'unreported' deaths from nursing homes.
- 301 ICU patients in total.
- 841 hospital beds available - 180 ICU beds available.
- 88 COVID-19 hospital discharges.
- Suffolk distributed 266,000 pieces of PPE Wednesday.
- County law enforcement antibody testing effort continues to test more than they projected for second day.
