Three men from Long Island were arraigned on drug charges Friday in connection with one of the largest cocaine busts in Suffolk County history.
Authorities say the arrests capped a three-month investigation that spanned eight states. The probe netted more than 450 pounds of cocaine, $5 million in cash, guns, cars and even homes. Eight men were arrested in the sweep.
Daniel Green, who was a substitute teacher for the North Babylon School District and sometimes coached the girls varsity basketball team, was held on $7.5 million bail. Billy Green, of Wheatley Heights, who is not related to Daniel, was held without bail. Police say Norman Goode, of Holtsville, who is a correction officer with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department, is the suspected ringleader of the operation and was also held without bail.
