Suffolk police ticketed a Middle Island man on his way to work for allegedly driving in the HOV lane with a dummy passenger Friday.
Police say they pulled over 32-year-old Timothy Tietjen on the westbound Long Island Expressway (LIE) after noticing his passenger's head tilted unnaturally. According to police, the passenger was a CPR practice mannequin. Tietjen allegedly put black hair, a mustache and a brown jacket on the dummy. Cops say he also had a baseball cap and sunglasses for it in the car.
Tietjen told police he's been using the mannequin since October in order to get to work faster. After being issued a summons and putting the doll away, Tietjen finished his commute to work.
