Some fourth-grade Ronkonkoma students have figured out a way to deliver long-distance hugs to those in need.
The students of Dina Pinelli's class are cutting out paper hands as part of the Hug It Out project. They will be sent out to friends and relatives in an effort to raise their holiday spirits.
"Sometimes all you need is a hug," said Pinelli. "Hugs are healing. When you get that big bear hug from one you love, you feel better."
The class plans to deliver their hugs next week.
