Two University of Albany students from Long Island pleaded not guilty at their arraignments Monday on charges of assault and falsely reporting an incident.
The two students, Ariel Agudio, of Huntington, and Asha Burwell, of Huntington Station, are among three students accused of assaulting a 19-year-old passenger on a bus in Albany.
As News 12 previously reported, before their arrest, they had publicly said that they were the victims of a bias attack on the bus at the hands of 12 white people.
Investigators say surveillance video taken from the bus security camera shows that Agudio, Burwell and the third defendant were the aggressors.
