Head of the Harbor residents who were left stranded when their dead-end street collapsed might soon have a new roadway to access their homes.
Plans are in the works to build a temporary easement connecting Mill Creek Road with nearby Emmet Drive. The new access point would allow residents to get their vehicles out, and emergency responders to get in.
The temporary roadway would pass through Hubert Poole’s property. Poole has agreed to allow the construction to proceed.
There will be a meeting Thursday morning involving Head of the Harbor village officials, affected residents and representatives from the Town of Smithtown to discuss next steps.
