Suffolk health officials on Thursday confirmed the county's first adult case of measles.

The county health department says the patient is from outside the U.S. and was visiting the East End. Officials say the person likely contracted the measles overseas and developed symptoms on Long Island. The case doesn't appear to be related to the nationwide outbreak.

Officials warn that anyone who visited the BNB Bank at 48 East Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, from around 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, may have been exposed.

Anyone who went to the bank at that time is asked to call the Suffolk Department of Health Services at 631-854-0333.

Officials say the case serves as an important reminder to check your records to see if you've been immunized. If not, they recommend getting the measles vaccine.

A spokesperson for BNB says the bank is working to contact all customers who may have been exposed.
