Volunteers came together Saturday to protect and preserve the shoreline at Tobay Beach.

Dozens showed up for the annual Dune Day event to stabilize the beach dunes by planting dune grass. The grass serves as a natural shield against storm surges and erosion, according to the Town of Oyster Bay.

Volunteers worked beside town officials and crews to help make a difference and preserve the shoreline.
