9ds agoHere’s what you need to know:
- A HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK is in effect through this evening. Dangerous rip currents are expected at Brooklyn and Queens beaches today.
- It's warm, mostly cloudy, damp and sticky this morning with temperatures in the mid-70s.
- Today will be hot and humid with a few peeks of sunshine.
- Scattered showers and storms arrive after 2 p.m. through 10 p.m. The worst of the storm will be after 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. There's an isolated risk for severe storms. The severe threat is dependent on the amount of cloud coverage we have throughout the day. More clouds = lower severe threat. Less clouds = higher chance of severe storms.
- Damaging winds and flooding downpours is the primary concern. Drenching rain will bring the risk for localized flooding, especially for poor drainage and low-lying areas. Highs will be in the upper 80s. Heat indices will be in the 90s.
- A few leftover showers takes us into parts of the morning commute tomorrow, before a stellar stretch of sunshine and warm weather take us through Wednesday afternoon through Sunday. There's a slight chance of a rogue shower or storm Thursday evening.
- Independence Day is warm with pleasant sunshine and low humidity.
- We've had 10 consecutive weekends with measurable rainfall since late April. The rainy weekend streak will likely end this weekend with a top 10 4th of July weekend forecast in store! Stay tuned for changes!

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, mild and muggy. Spotty showers and storms. Lows near 74.
Wednesday: Leftover morning showers. Gradual clearing, warm and less humid. Highs near 84. Lows near 73.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and warmer. Slight chance of a rogue storm. Highs near 88. Lows near 72.
Independence Day: Sunny, warm and low humidity. Highs near 83. Lows near 71.
.Saturday: Mostly sunny, warm, and comfy. Highs near 87. Lows near 76.
