News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says rain will clear out and sunshine will come in for the weekend.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Some lingering showers overnight with wet weather ending by daybreak and morning clouds giving way to sun. A nice, warmer weekend with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.
RIP CURRENTS: High risk through the weekend and early next week as tropical cyclone Franklin passes east of Long Island. Beach erosion and some big waves also possible early next week.
The overall chance for rain is diminishing a little bit for the middle of next week but we could see some showers around the area on Wednesday.
OVERNIGHT: Cloudy with scattered showers likely. Slight chance for a thunderstorm. Lows near 70 with southwest winds 5 to 15 mph. Sunrise: 6:13
SATURDAY: Showers end early in the morning with clouds giving way to sunshine. A nice day with mostly sunny skies during the afternoon and highs near 82 degrees. Southwest to northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 7:35.
SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear and nice with lows near 67. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny. Nice and warm. Highs near 78. Lows near 65.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and nice. Highs near 76. Lows near 66.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy. Slight chance for a passing shower. Highs near 75 Lows near 64.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy and breezy with the chance for a few showers. Highs near 78. Lows near 60.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs near 75. Lows near 58.
