One more nice day on Wednesday before rain arrives Wednesday night into Thursday.
Get ready for a wet Thursday morning commute. The best chance for heavy showers will be between midnight and 9 a.m., with scattered showers lingering for much of Thursday afternoon. Rain totals will be 1 to 1.5 inches, with slippery roads due to wet leaves and some big puddles. Expect gusty winds through the day on Wednesday, with winds out of the east to west gusting up to 35 mph.
Colder weather arrives behind the storm Thursday night into Friday, with some showers possible and a few wet snowflakes in the mix for parts of Long Island.
Our weather will gradually improve through the weekend, with sunshine returning for Sunday.
