STORM WATCH: Snow changing to wintry mix and rain Saturday afternoon

HEADLINES:
A stormy weekend ahead with a round of snow changing to a wintry mix and rain.
Saturday starts out dry, with snow showers developing around lunchtime. Expect a period of moderate snow with accumulations of 1 to 2 slushy inches by the evening. Temperatures will be above freezing for much of the day in the mid-30s. By 7 p.m., snow will start to mix with sleet and transition to rain. Rain could be heavy at times overnight into Sunday morning.
Showers continue through Sunday afternoon, with the chance for thunderstorms. It will be warmer, with highs nearing 50 degrees. Watch for local street flooding due to melting snow and rainfall.
The storm clears by Sunday night, with windy and colder conditions expected for Monday. Much of next week will be colder, with temperatures in the low 30s.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a good chance for snow and a wintry mix in the afternoon, changing to rain by the evening. Expect 1 to 2 inches of slushy snow. Rain showers continue at night. Highs near 36 degrees. Lows near 34 degrees.
SUNDAY: Cloudy and breezy, with rain likely. Chance for thunderstorms and street flooding. Highs near 50 degrees. Clearing and turning breezy at night. Cold, with lows near 25 degrees.
MONDAY: Presidents Day. Mostly sunny, breezy and cold. Highs near 34 degrees. Lows near 16 degrees.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and cold, with highs near 31 degrees. Lows near 20 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny and cold. Chance for snow showers at night. Highs near 32 degrees. Lows near 19 degrees.
THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy, with the chance for snow. Highs near 31 degrees. Lows near 20 degrees.
