Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Meredith Garofalo says there is a chance for heavy downpours on Monday as the heat wave comes to an end.
NEXT: Monday will still be hot and humid, but with a risk for strong to severe storms. There is a risk for localized flooding as well with heavy downpours. Heat wave ends after Monday with an unsettled pattern through the middle of next week bringing at least a chance for rain Wednesday - Friday.
MONDAY: STORM WATCH - Scattered showers or a storm in the morning. Then a few storms are expected in the afternoon. Some could be strong to severe. Highs around 86 degrees. Heat Index values may still approach the 90s before storms arrive. Overnight lows around 71.
TUESDAY: A stray shower early otherwise a mix of sun and clouds. Less Humid. High of 83. Low of 70.
