STORM WATCH: Mostly cloudy and cold with light snow for Long Island

Some minor snow accumulation is possible of a coating to 1 inch.

A storm will pass well south of Long Island and the northern edge will brush Long Island with light snow. Some minor snow accumulation is possible of a coating to 1 inch. The best chance of snow will be along the South Shore especially south Nassau County and southwest Suffolk County. Colder weather behind the storm will give us highs in the upper 20s and low 30s with some wind chills in the single digits and teens. Dry weather through Friday.
Today: Light snow likely, mainly between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Calm wind becoming north/northwest 5 to 15mph in the morning. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Tonight: Some flurries. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 17. Wind chill values between 5 and 10. North wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 31. Wind chill values between 5 and 15. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 29. Blustery, with a northwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 15. Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 30. Blustery. Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 20. Friday: Sunny, with a high near 37.
