Latest on Snow Risk:
There is a chance to see some light snow early on Sunday. A cold front will deliver much colder temperatures starting Sunday through Tuesday along with some snow. Sunday's snow, as of Thursday evening, looks like anywhere from a coating up to about 2 inches.
Monday is trending drier, with a weaker system sliding to the south again, but Tuesday into Wednesday may feature snow and some wintry mix. Temperatures will rise on Wednesday and back into the 40s, but before the warmup, it will be pretty cold. That's why the next storm may start off wintry but end up rainy.
There is several days away and the timing, intensity and track may change. Be sure to check back with the News 12 Storm Watch Team through the weekend for continuing updates.
The Forecast
Temperatures on Thursday night will be colder as the sky clears. It will be a great opportunity to check out the moon and Jupiter together in the night sky. Viewing is best around between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. as both celestial objects will be high in the sky. Look for them to pair up in the constellation Gemini. Low temperatures will fall back into the 20s, so watch out for icy spots.
Friday and Saturday look pretty good. There will be more sunshine and snowmelt. Temperatures should rise back into the lower to mid-40s.
Colder temperatures will slide back starting Sunday and continue through Tuesday. The coldest day will be Monday, when temperatures might not climb above freezing.
A big warmup is still in the forecast starting toward the end of next week.
