Dozens of runners pounded the pavement at Stony Brook University to raise money for a future Ronald McDonald House.
It would be the first ever Ronald McDonald location built in Suffolk County.
The Ronald McDonald House is a nonprofit that provides programs and services for families with sick or injured children.
"It's going to be an amazing place, so that we have a space for families to stay to get food to have support," said Lisa Muratori of the Stony Brook School of Health Professions.
The Ronald McDonald House is slated to be built on the campus of Stony Brook Children's Hospital. The completion date is scheduled for the fall of 2026.
