State police: Motorcyclist killed, 3 hurt in Northern State Parkway crash

State police say a 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed and three others were hospitalized in a crash on the Northern State Parkway in the early hours of Saturday.

State police say a 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed and three others were hospitalized in a crash on the Northern State Parkway in the early hours of Saturday.
It happened shortly before 1 a.m. in the westbound lanes west of Exit 32 in the town of North Hempstead. State police say 41-year-old Rony Lopez, of Hollis, New York, was heading west at a high rate of speed when his 2018 Ducati motorcycle struck the back of a 2015 Acura.
Lopez was ejected from the bike. He was taken to Winthrop Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
State police say the 49-year-old driver of the Acura and two occupants in the vehicle were also taken to Winthrop Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
