An elementary
school in the Longwood Central School District is closed today and tomorrow after a staff member
tested positive for COVID-19.
School officials
released a statement saying they learned of the positive test result Wednesday
night at Charles E. Walters Elementary School in Yaphank.
The district says that staff member had limited
contact with students and the school's closure is out of an abundance of
caution.
Students will
practice remote learning while the building is disinfected.
