Swiping right may have saved her life.
A St. James woman who was waiting for a kidney donation since 2011 received one Tuesday from her girlfriend who she met on Tinder.
Alana Duran received the kidney from Lori Interlicchio, of West Islip, after a test revealed that she was a match. They began dating last summer after meeting on the dating app.
Duran was suffering from kidney failure caused by lupus.
Doctors at Stony Brook Medical Center performed the transplant Tuesday. So far, both women are doing well. They say the transplant is already improving Duran's kidney functions.
Doctors say both women should be home by Saturday, if everything goes well.
