Splish Splash Waterpark has announced in will officially
reopen on Saturday, May 29.
The water park has been closed since Labor Day 2019 – a
627-day closure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The water park says the first step to its comeback is
hiring roughly 1,000 season staffers to provide
a clean, safe and fun experience for its visitors.
“We’re so excited to get back to the business of fun here
at Splish Splash,” said General Manager Mike Bengtson. “Creating opportunities
for people to get back to work is an important step in the recovery process,
and we will keep safety as our top priority for staff and applicants throughout
the recruitment, orientation and training process.”
Splish Splash Waterpark says it will follow
recommendations and rulings from the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, New York Department of Health, and best practices
within the amusement and attractions industries.
In addition, management says recruiters will conduct
interviews virtually for job positions, and orientation and training will be mostly virtual. Any in person
trainings will require facial coverings, strict adherence to state capacity
limitations, and social distancing.
Water park officials say in appreciation for their patrons’
patience and support through the challenges of the past year, all 2020 Season
Passes have been extended to include the 2021
season.
