The sounds of aircraft whizzing above filled the air Saturday for the annual Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show at Jones Beach.
With their feet firmly planted on the ground and their eyes gazing at the sky, more than 200,000 spectators took in the patriotic display.
Some said they came in a show of support for loved ones serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, while others said they came to honor all military personnel - past and present.
Highlights included maneuvers from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Army Golden Knights and F-22 Raptor.
The air show continues Sunday, May 25.
