Police say another overdose may be linked to fentanyl-laced cocaine on the East End.
As News 12 has previously reported, there were eight overdoses and six deaths on the North Fork just this past week.
The Southold police chief announced Monday that a 34-year-old from Laurel suffered an overdose at his home. News 12 is told the individual received Narcan and survived.
Police are working to track the source of what they believe is cocaine laced with fentanyl.
Southold's police chief said in a statement, “If anyone has purchased any kind of narcotics on the North Fork or Shelter Island in the last two weeks or so or knows of a family member that may have purchased down there, we're just asking anybody to discard whatever they bought in a safe manner.”
Police say several of the victims worked in local restaurants here in the Greenport area.
Organizers in Southold say they are holding four zoom Narcan training sessions this week. Narcan kits will be available after the sessions.
The events will be held Tuesday through Friday at 10 a.m.
