A pest that has killed thousands of Suffolk pine trees has appeared in Nassau County. 
State officials say the southern pine beetle has been found for the very first time in Bethpage State Park.
Until now, the destructive beetle was only killing pine trees in Suffolk.
The southern pine beetle has devastated forests and state lands all across the United States.
