A Southampton man is facing at least 75 years in prison for the fatal shooting of a man who lived on the Shinnecock Reservation.
Investigators say 44-year-old Michael Gaines attacked Mtundu Vanterpool at a gas station in 2019 and then later broke into his home and shot him three times.
Gaines was given 25-years-to-life for the second degree murder charge and 25 years each for two counts of burglary
