The son of a fallen NYPD sergeant from Long Island got a special back-to-school send-off Tuesday morning.
NYPD officers from the 43rd Precinct showed up at Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo's Huntington home to put his son Austin on the bus.
Tuozzolo was killed in the line of duty last year in the Bronx. He was shot during a confrontation with a suspect who was wanted for breaking into the home of his estranged wife.
The suspect, Manuel Rosales, of Brentwood, was killed at the scene. Police say he had a long rap sheet that included 17 arrests in Suffolk County.
