The Long Island Rail Road trains was reporting some delays Friday afternoon amid a winter storm that dumped several inches of wet, heavy snow on the Island.
The LIRR said it was experiencing delays averaging 15 minutes in both directions on the Port Washington, Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, and Hempstead branches due to the weather.
Some commuters complained of station platforms that needed to be plowed.
The LIRR is urging riders to stay up-to-date as the storm continues by checking timetables on their app.
Riders are also urged to be cautious on slippery, snow-covered platforms.
During the blizzard last month, the LIRR was shut down due to damage to its yards from the storm and icy, snow-covered tracks.
