The first families gathered Saturday for the inaugural meeting of the Society of Presidential Descendants at the Roosevelt school on Long Island University’s Post campus.

Members from almost a dozen presidential families met to listen to panel discussions that included sharing stories of living in the White House.

The event was held at "The White House Experience" – a mansion that features replicas of the executive home 's rooms, including the Oval Office and the Situation Room.

Organizers say the museum will be available this fall to schools and the public to enjoy

Tonight they are hosting their inaugural gala honoring Doris Kearns Goodwin – a leading presidential historian.
