Suffolk County Water Authority crews are responding to a "significant" water main break in Copiague Tuesday.

The break happened at about 8 a.m. on Oak Street, south of the Copiague Long Island Rail Road station, according to the SCWA. It impacted 54 customers, who are currently without water service, the utility added.

Oak Street and Great Neck Road are both closed.

The SCWA said crews will be working through the afternoon and possibly into the evening to repair the break. The cause is unknown, but likely due to weather, an SCWA representative said.

The MTA said there is currently no impact on service at the station because of the break.
