Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken, Islanders-themed bar Offside Tavern and a swath of local flavors will be food and beverage options for Islanders fans when UBS Arena hosts the team's first home game Nov. 20.
The NBA Hall of Famer was at UBS Arena Thursday to introduce his chicken brand's New York launch. "I'm an Islanders man now," Shaq told News 12.
Shaq's Big Chicken will team up with Huntington's
Blue Line Deli & Bagels for a collaboration sandwich called "The Islander" - serving Shaq's chicken on orange and blue bagels from Blue Line.
Blue Line Deli & Bagels will also provide blue and orange bagels and sandwiches at market locations in the arena.
The Islanders just announced Tuesday that fan-favorite Islanders bar Offside Tavern - which closed in the city -
will move into UBS Arena.
"It's the most surreal experience," said Offside Tavern owner Nick Costa. "For you to tell me that my bar is inside where the Islanders play, you're talking crazy. It's amazing. I love it."
Floral Park's The Harrison will provide cheeseburgers and French fries in the concessions area.
New York brands Milk Bar, Mighty Quinn’s Barbeque and The Sausage King of New York will all be featured as well.
“The focus on bringing a true local New York flavor throughout the culinary offerings will provide our guests with a unique experience they can only find at UBS Arena,” arena operations president Hank Abate said in a release.
