Cable and internet provider Optimum says services have been restored to nearly all affected customers after multiple fiber lines were cut in an apparent act of vandalism, blacking out service to some Optimum subscribers in Fairfield County early Friday morning.
Images taken at the scene show dozens of fiber optic lines sheared and lying on the ground.
Senior vice president of Altice USA communications, Janet Meahan, says the police have been notified.
Altice USA is the parent company of News 12 Connecticut.
