Keame Rowser was charged with robbery and endangering the welfare of a child after he allegedly stole a dog from a 15-year-old girl late Tuesday night.
Court documents say Rowser got out of his car around 10:30 p.m. and tried to grab the dog from the teen.
Prosecutors say he removed the leash and ran into his house with the American Bully dog they say is valued at $5,000.
Rowser was arrested and was released Wednesday after getting a GPS monitor and signing an order of protection.
The district attorney said the 15-year-old victim has her dog back now but was scared and crying and refused to leave her house since the incident.
Rowser was in court Tuesday for a different incident. He was arraigned after allegedly assaulting his mother back in October. Court documents say Rowser got into a verbal argument with his mother and shoved her to the ground, injuring her in the process.
Rowser’s next court date for the dog robbery case will be Jan. 27.
