The Village of Lindenhurst held a public hearing Tuesday evening to discuss a proposed senior housing complex.
The developer's attorneys presented an application to rezone the senior center.
The complex is called Gail Grace Manor North and it's slated to be built on property currently zoned for commercial use at the corner of Jackson Avenue and 41st Street.
Several community members questioned how the 29-unit complex will affect jobs, taxable income and traffic flow in the area.
The developer's attorney says traffic studies determined the senior complex will have virtually no impact on road congestion.
The developer is now preparing to go before the zoning committee for approval.
