Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is tossing her hat in the ring for 2020.
"I'm filing an exploratory committee for president of the United States tonight....," she exclaimed.
The New York Democrat joins what is expected to be a crowded primary field. It could already include more than a dozen candidates.
"I have an opinion as to what's going on in the country," says Ray Furey, of Port Washington, "... and I would like to see what she has to say."
Other residents say they would like her to have more experience, but she seems eager.
The 52-year-old has plans to travel to the leadoff caucus state of Iowa later this week.
