Outraged over the recent decision to cut homeland security funding to downstate New York, Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) and Congressman Peter King (R-Seaford) joined forces Saturday.
At a joint press conference at Suffolk County?s First Precinct in West Babylon, Clinton, King and Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy reminded Long Island residents that many of New York?s landmarks are potential targets of terrorists. They also used the conference as an opportunity to promote their postcard program, where residents are urged to send postcards of New York landmarks to Homeland Security chief Michael Chertoff.
Clinton and King want Chertoff not only to explain the reasoning for the cuts, but to rethink something they believe is a big funding mistake.
