A soldier back from Iraq spoke at a forum in Lindenhurst Saturday to tell Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) what troops face on the home front.
Captain Christopher Daniels, of Centerport, returned in September 2005, but says he had problems adjusting to life without the threat of war. He hopes the senator is successful in starting her Heroes at Home program, which would provide quality mental care and health care to soldiers. Daniels says after months of waiting for an appointment at the Northport VA Hospital, he paid for medical help elsewhere.
Clinton says she held the forum to highlight the problem and hopefully jumpstart funding for the program.
