Residents on Ambassador Lane in Selden are banding together in an effort to protect themselves after a vandalism rampage occurred on the block.
According to police, vandals commandeered a pickup truck on the block Friday, tore apart a neighbor?s lawn and hit several cars. Police say the spree continued and vandals ripped the radio out of a car, stole equipment from a van and ransacked someone?s boat.
The residents plan to form a neighborhood watch program. Several residents say they have even started to patrol the area. The community got together to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of those involved in the rampage.
