Child suffers severe cuts after putting hands through window in Glen Cove

A child suffered serious injuries after an accident at a home in Nassau County Wednesday afternoon.

The Glen Cove Police Department responded to the call for a 12-year-old boy who had put his hands through a window causing severe cuts.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. at a house on Miller Street in Glen Cove.

Police tell News 12 officers had to apply a tourniquet at the scene to stop the bleeding.

Both of the boy’s arms were badly lacerated, with a more severe wound on his left wrist.

EMS took the victim to Landing Elementary School, where a helicopter transported him to Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park.
