A Selden man?s abuse allegations against his mother have sparked an investigation by the Suffolk district attorney and brought animal rescuers to the family?s home.
The 21-year-old, going only by the name Doug, says his mother physically abused him and his six sisters for years and killed dozens of animals, burying them in the backyard. Doug says his mother forced his sisters to help torture the animals.
Several neighbors told News 12 Long Island they?ve seen their pets disappearing over the past few months.
On Thursday, the Suffolk SPCA removed several live animals from the home. Members of Rescue Ink were also on hand.
The district attorney?s office says digging in the backyard is planned. No charges have been filed against the unidentified mother.
